Congratulations to the City of Ojai Arts Grants recipients. Selected by the Arts Commission and approved by Ojai City Council, the grant recipients will bring these artistic projects to life in 2023.
Ojai Music Festival Bravo Music and Arts Camps: $4,000
Bravo Music and Arts Camp 2023, a five-day program in two sessions for 150 children, ages 5 to 14 that strives to strengthen the community through music, stories and making art ($5,000 requested).
Dev Dance Theater: $2,500
Just as the Moon Comes, an outdoor, theatrical dance performance featuring nine female artists from various backgrounds and includes collaboration with emerging artists on various aspects of production. ($30,000 requested)
Ojai Film Society: $5,000
A free summer film screening series hosted at Libbey Bowl in partnership with the City of Ojai, up to six screenings reaching up to 500 people per screening ($6,000 requested).
River Sauvageau: $2,500
Ojai Day Mandala supplies, creation, workshops, outreach and opening event. Participation estimated at over 5,000. ($6,000 requested)
Ojai Studio Artists: $5,000
Ojai Studio Artists Tour planning, outreach and event reception, with the goal of bringing 1,500 attendees to the tour ($10,000 requested).
Ojai Performing Arts Theater Foundation: $3,500
Support for two theatrical productions: Sundays in the Park with George and Much Ado About Nothing. Estimated audience size of 2,400 ($3,500 requested).
Nannette Brodie Dance Theater & South Coast Dance Alliance: $2,500
Citywide festival of dance with master classes, workshops, school assemblies and community concerts, with leading artist Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre ($4,500 requested).
