Political Signs
Have you seen the signs? Election season is here! Remember that within the Ojai City limits, political signs cannot be placed in the public right-of-way. Private property is fine with permission. Trees, poles, and fences are off-limits. Code Compliance enforces and will remove (only) illegally placed signs and bring them to the public works yard for pick-up. Please utilize the My Ojai App for the most efficient way to file a Code Compliance related issue for City staff attention.
Political signs do not require a permit, but are subject to the various regulations for signs in the Ojai Municipal code.
Mainly, political signs are not allowed on any public property or within the public right-of-way, or any curb, sidewalk, street, pole, post, utility box, hydrant, bridge, tree, building or other surface that is located on public property or in the public right-of-way.
